Japanese Woodblock Print Four woodblock were used to create this Inca style bookmark. Every color represents a different block that I carved. A baren (which is a round disk) was pressed by hand on top of the paper, which was laid on top of the block to create the image. I used a Japanese paper called Iyo Glazed made from sulphite. The colors were blended from watercolor guache. I laminated the bookmarks with matte medium.
